Over eighty at the time of his death in 1932, Sheik Benguedda El Hadj Belarbi was a North African Muslim poet. He was the proprietor of a Moorish cafe which was for many years a place of pilgrimage for poets from all over North Africa. He had a library with the collected works of poets from Morocco and Western Algeria.
