Excerpt
"Ain't I a Woman" by critic Maya Jaggi reviews "Daughters of Africa," an anthology edited by Margaret Busby. Excerpt: "Daughters of Africa draws together samples of work by more than 200 women of African descent, from the continent itself to the diaspora... Toni Morrison uses the narrator's voice as chorus, with echoes of black church music and jazz, as does Ghanaian, Ama Ata Aidoo, in her mischievous satires on urban materialism and sexual relations."
