Critics of apartheid suggest that the South African cricket team should not be allowed to perform in the 1970 South African Tour of England (which was, indeed, canceled). In 1962, the "South African non-racial Open Committee for Olympic Sports"--SANROC--was formed. Headed by Dennis Brutus, this group organized multiple boycotts and protests against South Africa's participation in international sport competitions.
