Thierry Manirambona was born in 1982 in Burundi. After the minor seminary in Burundi, Thierry entered the Society of Jesus. He studied journalism at the National University of Rwanda. Thierry Manirambona is the grand prizewinner of the Michel Kayoya Prize 2010 in Burundi for his short story LAlbinos. His first collection of poems Sapin davril is published by Éditions Publibook.
