Mubarak Bashir was a Sudanese poet and journalist from Khartoum, Sudan. He studied at the University of Khartoum and the University of Leipzig in Germany, where he earned his doctorate in Cultural and Educational Politics. He worked for the Department of Culture under the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Sudan Academy of Communication Sciences, and at the University of Science and Culture in Omdurman. His poems have been made into songs by several Sudanese artists. Bashir died in February 2021.
