Toyin Adewale-Gabriel

Biography

Toyin Adewale-Gabriel was born in Ibadan, Nigeria. She is a poet, fiction writer, literary critic, activist, and editor. She received her master's degree in literature from Obafemi Awolowo University. Her debut poetry collection, Naked Testimonies, was published in 1995. Her short stories and poems have been published in Breaking the Silence: An Anthology of Short Stories (1996), Opebi the Hunter and Other Stories (1999), Inkwells: An Anthology of Poems and Stories (1997), and _Nigerian Women Short Stories _(2005). She writes in English and German and highlights her faith as instrumental in her work. She served as the cofounder and coordinator of the Association of Writers of Nigeria for several years.
