Norddine Zouitni was born in 1953 in Morocco. He is the author of several books of Arabic language poetry such as Alqurban wal malika (The Offering and the Queen) and Qalbu althalj (Snow Heart). His poetry is known to express anguish and an outcry of despair against the modern world. He currently works as a professor of English studies at Chouaib Doukkali University, El Jadida and is a member of the House of Poetry in Morocco. He also edits the Moroccan pages of Poetry International Rotterdam.
