Hassan El Ouazzani was born in 1950 in Morocco. He is the author of several poetry collections, including: Hudnatun ma (A Truce), Répertoire des écrivains marocains,and La production littéraire marocaine 1929–1999: Bio-bibliographie et étude socio-bibliométrique. He has a master's degree in in Library Science, Archiving, and Libraries, and a doctorate in literature. He teaches and researches at the School of Information Sciences in Rabat. He is known for being a member of the generation of poets who, in the 1990s, brought the prose-poem into prominence in Moroccan poetry. The generation included seminal poets such as Jalal El Hakmaoui, Mahmoud Abdelghani, Abdelilah Salhi, and Yassin Adnan.
