Hassan El Ouazzani was born in 1950 in Morocco. He is the author of several poetry collections, including Hudnatun ma (A Truce), Répertoire des écrivains marocains, and La production littéraire marocaine 1929–1999: Bio-bibliographie et étude socio-bibliométrique. He has a master’s degree in library science, archiving, and libraries and a doctorate in literature. He teaches and researches at the School of Information Sciences in Rabat. He is known for being a member of the generation of poets who, in the 1990s, brought the prose poem into prominence in Moroccan poetry. The generation included seminal poets such as Jalal El Hakmaoui, Mahmoud Abdelghani, Abdelilah Salhi, and Yassin Adnan.
