Hassan Najmi was born in 1959 in Ben Ahmed, Morocco. He is the author of several poetry collections, including Lavenders' Princedom, Fallen Inadvertently, and Brown Winds, which focus on everyday life. His early poetry followed the traditions of Moroccan poets Ahmed Mejjati, Mohammed Serghini, and Abdelkarim Tabbal, before developing a more contemporary style. His poetry has been translated into English by Roger Allen, a translator of modern Arabic fiction.
