Togara Muzanenhamo was born in 1975 in Lusaka, Zambia and spent his childhood in Zimbabwe. A poet and journalist, his first collection, Spirit Brides (2006), was shortlisted for the Jerwood Anderson First Collection Prize. His other poetry collections are Gumiguru (2014), which was shortlisted for the Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry; Textures, winner of the National Arts and Merit Award for Literature; and Virga (2021). In 2001, he earned his master's in creative writing from Manchester Metropolitan University. He also studied business administration in the Netherlands and France.
