Amel Moussa was born in 1971 in Tunisia. She is the author of two books of poetry: Ontha al-ma (The Water Female) and Khajal al-yakout (The Emerald's Bashfulness). She earned her master's in sociology from the University of Tunis and became a journalist, consultant, and professor of Press and Communication Sciences. She is the recipient of Tunisia's National Creative Award for poetry and the 2006 Arab Woman Organization's Award for journalism. Her poetry has been translated into several languages, including Italian, English, Spanish, French, Polish, and Czech. In 2021, she was appointed the Minister of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly.
