Ben Younes Majen was born in 1946 in Oujda, Morocco. He is the author of five books of poetry in Arabic, French, and English, including Anashid lil Dabab, Masamat, and Limadha la Yamutu al-Bahr. He completed his primary and secondary studies in his hometown of Oujda, then went on to complete his university studies in London. He has a master's in translation from the University of Westminster-London. In 1968, he left Morocco for France and later moved to London, where he worked for the British Library in the Arabic and Turkish section.
