Wafaa Lamrani was born in 1960 in Ksar el-Kebir, Morocco. Her poems “The Wail of Heights” and “I am Consecrated to the Coming One” were featured in The poetry of Arab women: A Contemporary Anthology (2015). She’s also contributed work to Poetic justice: An anthology of contemporary Moroccan poetry (2020). History and politics are strong influences in her work and the writer reflects the hardships and cultural norms of her country in her poems. In 1982, she received her diploma in Arabic Literature from College of Literature and Humanities, Rabat. Lamrani was one of the five women poets featured in La carte poétique du Maroc
